![]() Lillie Brady and Lydia Mauney of the Watauga High soccer team have been selected to play in the North Carolina State Games. The games will be played at Wake Forest University June 18-19. Brady and Mauney are the first female soccer players from WHS to participate in the state games since Katherine Mayhew last played two years ago.Mauney, a defender, scored her first goal of the season on April 7 against South Caldwell; Brady has three goals and two assists on the year. The Pioneers (5-1-1 in the Northwestern 3A/4A Conference and in sole possession of second place) travel to Fred T. Foard on Tuesday night. WHS is 9-2-1 overall this season.
