For the third-straight year, Appalachian State University athletics, in conjunction with the High Country chapter of the March of Dimes, will host the annual March For Babies.This year’s event will be held on Sunday, April 17 at ASU’s Beaver Field at Jim and Bettie Smith Stadium (located behind the Broyhill Inn and Conference Center on the Appalachian campus).
First pitch for the April 17 Appalachian-Samford baseball game at Smith Stadium has been moved to noon (EDT) with registration for the March For Babies beginning at 2:30 p.m. Admission for the game is FREE with a donation to the March of Dimes in lieu of purchasing a game ticket.
Fans and March participants are encouraged to arrive for the noon first pitch to support ASU’s “Baseball for Babies” quest to set a stadium attendance record in conjunction with the March For Babies events. Popcorn, snow cones, cotton candy, inflatable rides and special activities for young fans will be available on the stadium concourse during the game.
Immediately following the game, the March For Babies will commence on Smith Stadium’s Beaver Field. After one lap around the warning track, ASU student-athletes will man rides and lead on-field activities for children in attendance.
Those wishing to participate in the fun for the whole family at the March For Babies can do so in two ways:
1) Join the ASU athletics’ March For Babies fundraising team by clicking HERE, or;
2) Come to Smith Stadium on Sunday, April 17 to cheer on the Mountaineers versus Samford and make a donation at the gate for admission to both the game and the fun-filled March For Babies activities.
