Georgia Southern, a six-time national champion, and Charlotte, which begins playing football in 2013, have agreed in principle to a two-year, home-and-home series beginning in 2014.

The Eagles will play at Charlotte on October 25, 2014, and the 49ers travel to Statesboro, Ga. on September 26, 2015. The Eagles were 10-5 last season and reached the Football Championship Series semifinal round.
