![]() Watauga High baseball coach Pete Hardee has announced that the Pioneers will entertain Providence in a double-header on Saturday May, 16 at Pioneer Field. It will be varsity only, beginning with the first game at 12 noon. The double-header includes a make-up game that was rained out at Providence on March 26. The North Davidson game that was postponed April 2 has yet to be rescheduled. Hardee hopes to get that game made up in the next two weeks.Our coverage of that Providence double-header on April 16 begins at 11:30 am on Oldies 100.7 FM. Our coverage of Thursday night's suspended game between the Pioneers and South Caldwell begins at 5:50 pm on Oldies 100.7 FM. When play resumes, the Spartans will have runners at first and second with one out and Kevin Jones at the plate nursing an 0-2 count. The Spartans lead the Pioneers 6-3, thanks to a four-run outburst in the frame before severe weather halted play Monday night.
