![]() Former Appalachian State University men's basketball coach Houston Fancher is still under consideration for a coaching position at the University of Tennessee. Fancher, who won 137 games at ASU and led the Mountaineers to the NIT in 2007, is seriously being considered as a possible assistant coach by new head coach Cuonzo Martin at Tennessee. Martin, who was named the Vols new head coach on March 27, replaced Bruce Pearl, who was dismissed on March 21.Fancher was the coordinator of video scouting with the Vols before he was named interim head coach following Pearl's dismissal. If Fancher is retained, he would remain as coordinator of video scouting with the Vols.
