There were three injuries in an afternoon wreck on NC 105 at the Poplar Hill Drive intersection in Boone.  21-year old Tonya Wall of Pleasant Grove was stopped in the left-hand lane to turn left from 105 to Poplar Hill when her Ford Focus was slammed from behind by a truck driven by Daniel Hodges of Vilas. Both drivers and another woman in Wall’s car were taken by Watauga Medics to Watauga Medical Center for treatment while Boone Police investigated, citing Daniel Hodges for Failure to Reduce Speed.  None of the injuries from the 2:40pm accident appeared life-threatening. The accident was at the exact spot under nearly identical circumstances to one that claimed the life of a young Boone man and caused the speed limit on the stretch of 105 to be lowered.
