Cannon Named MVP At Carolinas Classic PDF Print

Senior John Cannon of Mountain Heritage High School in Burnsville, NC closed out his high school career on a high note.

 

Cannon, who is being recruited by several schools, including Appalachian State University, played for the North Carolina All-Stars in the 14th Annual Carolinas Basketball Classic in Myrtle Beach, SC last Saturday. Cannon scored nine points and pulled down 12 rebounds as South Carolina defeated North Carolina 87-84 in overtime. But for his efforts, Cannon was named the North Carolina Most Valuable Player of the game.
Mallory Clay of Ashe County played for North Carolina in the women's game. She scoerd four points as South Carolina defeated North Carolina, 64-52.
