Ashe County Sheriff’s Office reports that Roy L Woodard, age 62, of Ft Lauderdale Florida and Ashe County was arrested On March 17, 2011 by Lt William Sands. Woodard was charged with 6 counts of felony embezzlement.  Four Ashe County citizens are the victims.  They have alleged to have entrusted a total of $200,000.00 to Woodard. According to Sheriff James Williams, the investigation is continuing.  Additional charges are pending.  Mr. Woodard is currently free on a $25,000 secured bond.  Court date is set for April 14, 2011.
