A Jeep and a roll-back truck collided head-on just before 3 this afternoon on NC 194 in Heaton in Avery County.  Two people were reportedly hurt,

one in and out of consciousness—that patient taken by paramedics to a landing zone for WINGS air ambulance set up on the lot of Jack Hicks trucking on Elk Park Highway.  Traffic was diverted from the scene from several directions for some time while the State Patrol started their probe of the accident.
