Two vehicles stopped on N.C. 105 for a turning car and a Ford Freestyle slammed into the back of a Toyota pick-up, which then struck a Honda. The Ford then ran off the road stopped just before it might have slid further down the hill. The driver of the Ford 39-year-old Dawna Pennell of Zionville, was taken to Watauga Medical Center, with non life-threatening injuries. Pennell was cited for failure to reduce speed. The Toyota driver was District Attorney Jerry Wilson, and neither he nor Carolyn King of Beech Mountain, the Honda driver, were hurt. |
