Saving state employee jobs is certainly front and center for the State employees Association, but with the state facing a 2.7 billion dollar shortfall, the State Employee's Association unveiledĀ  plan to fill the gap and still have money left over. SEANC said Tuesday that it can find $10 billion in savings for the state by simply making choices. The advocate organization for state employees outlined the cost saving plan at a news conference on Tuesday. Some of the proposed actions in the report include closing loopholes in the film and tobacco industries and NASCAR, consolidating state funded health care and even moving state employees to a four-day 10 hour work week. SEANC Executive Director Dana Cope said more can be done to help the state save money by eliminating advantages for companies and by cutting services and jobs.
