On Thursday Ms. Cassie Delisa Mahala of Lenoir was arrested subsequent to a Boone Police Department investigation of an incident reported on November 18th, 2010. The investigation shows that Ms. Mahala is alleged to have written a check on a closed account to The Stone Jewelers of Boone, and she was charged with one count of felony Obtain Property by False Pretense. Cassie Mahala was arrested in Lenoir and upon arrest was served with other outstanding charges unrelated to this case. She was taken before a Caldwell County Magistrate and was issued a court date of March 7th and was held on a $20,000.00 combined secured bond.
