New Nationwide Wetlands and Water Work Permits Take Effect PDF Print
Written by Christie James

Those who are planning construction or work that involves wetlands or water take note: The US Army Corps of Engineers has announced that new nationwide permits regulating work in wetlands and other areas of water, including rivers and streams took effect March 19th throughout the United States.

Folks in North Carolina, however, can expect a delay in the implementation of those permits. A pending certification and implementation of new guidelines is causing a hold-up in the state granting of those permits, and the development of some backlogs.  If you are planning work that involves land with wetland or water areas, check with your representative with the US Army Corp of Engineers.
