Two men were killed late Saturday night in a crash just west of Jefferson--the second double-fatality accident in Ashe County in January.
The state patrol identified the deceased as 43-year old Charles Linwood Flanagan of Laurel Springs, the driver of the vehicle, an d 39-year old Stewart Allen Miller, of Crumpler. The report says that Flanagan lost control of the vehicle traveling west on NC 88 about a mile out of Jefferson. The vehicle careened off of the road to the right, was pulled back onto the road, then it ran off again to the right, overturned, then struck a building. Neither man was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the 11:25pm accident, and the state patrol is investigating what other factors might have played a part in the double fatality. |
