Schools in Watauga and Ashe managed to get in their make-up day Saturday, and school officials in Watauga and Avery are hoping to make up another Monday.
A few flakes fell in the area overnight, but the line of precipitation dissipated before making any real impact, but the forecast is for some more precipitation tonight in the form of freezing rain mixed with snow. It is only a slight chance, but only a small amount of freezing rain can quickly impact the travel plans…so stay tuned. If Watauga can go to school Monday, it will still face 13 make-up days for the school year with still a lot of winter to come. |
