Watauga High Athletics Director Tom Wright has announced that WHS wrestling and swimming scheduled for Tuesday night have been postponed because of wintry weather.

No make up dates have been announced. The WHS wrestling team was scheduled to host Alexander Central, and the WHS swimmoing team was scheduled to compete down in Newton in a NW3A/4A Conference meet hosted by Fred T. Foard. The wrestling team hopes to get its match with Alexander Central in by Thursday night, according to head coach James Eichmiller. Meanwhile, WHS swimming coach David Gragg is trying to work something out concerning a possible meet by the end of the week.
"I'm working on something, and hopefully, we can put something together by the end of the week," Gragg said. "It's frustrating, and this weather makes it tough on everybody,"
Also. the WHS wrestling team will host a dual meet Friday night at Lentz-Eggers Gym. WHS will make up the McDowell match that was postponed back in December at 5:30 pm Friday night. And the Pioneers will follow that up with their regularly scheduled match with Hickory at 7 pm.
