Ashe and Watauga Schools are looking to this Saturday to make up one of the days missed to snow so far this year.
Ashe announced their intention to have school this Saturday as they closed school for today, and this afternoon, Marshall Ashcraft announced that Watauga would do the same, plus hold classes Monday, January 17th. Ashcraft said that the schedule for Saturday is that school will start at the regular time but it will be an early release day. The prek-8 schools will dismiss at 12:00 and the high school will let out at 1:00. Schools will be open Saturday even if they are closed the preceding day. However, schools will either open at the usual time or they will be closed - delayed openings will not be used. For Monday, January 17, the schedule will be a regular school day. The teacher workday scheduled for this date will be moved to a Saturday.
