Last night was the big night for
Boone-based producer Gary Wheeler.
His latest film, The List premiered
in Charlotte. Wheeler hopes to bring the show to Boone.
He's local, and wants to positively influence the local population, he says.
Eventually, Wheeler may film a Boone-based production, he
says.
He thinks it would be good for the community and
bring businesses into the area. It would be something everyone could
support, he says.
Wheeler has a few ideas- including a movie based around
Tweetsie Railroad.
In the meantime, Wheeler has other film projects to occupy
his time. There’s one particular project, however, Wheeler would love to
partake in- teaching at Appalachian State University.
While he's been in touch with the theatre
department in the past- he's not sure what their current plans are
faculty-wise. Wheeler says, film schedule permitting, he'd teach next
semester if he could.
The List,
starring Malcolm McDowell, opens to the public on August 10.
