The Mountaineers, who dismantled Western Illinois 42-14 in  the second round of the Football Championship Series Division I Playoffs on Saturday at Kidd Brewer Stadium, will now play  Villanova this weekend in the national quarterfinals.

Villanova (8-4), which defeated Montana to win the national championship last season, advanced by defeating Stephen F. Austin 54-24 on the road Saturday. The Wildcats wiped out a 21-7 deficit in that game. Quarterback chris Whitney threw four touchdown passes in the win. A time and date for the ASU-Villanova game will be announced on Sunday afternoon.
In other games, Eric Breitenstein turned in a strong effort on Saturday at Wofford College defeated Jacksonville State 17-14 in the second-round of the Football Championship Series Division I Playoffs.
Breitenstein, a first-team All-Southern Conference selection, had 28 carries for 178 yards and two touchdowns. The Terriers (10-2) will play Georgia Southern (9-4) in the national quarterfinals on Saturday. Georgia Southern defeated William & Mary, 31-15.
