![]() Appalachian State moved up a notch in the national polls after the Mountaineers clobbered Wofford College 43-13 on Saturday to win their sixth consecutive Southern Conference championship.
That effort also tied the league mark of six in a row originally set by Georgia Southern from 1997-2002. The Mountaineers (9-1 overall; 7-1 SoCon) are currently ranked No.2 in The Sports Network Poll. And the Moutaineers, who were ranked third last week, also received 28 first-place votes. Delaware takes over the top spot after last week's No.1 team, William & Mary, lost to New Hamsphire on Saturday. The Blue Hens received 116 first-place votes.
