State Golf Results, Day 1 PDF Print

The North Carolina High School Association has released day one results from the women's state golf tournaments that began on Monday morning.

In the Class 4A tournament being played at Pinehurst #1, freshman Savannah Wood of Watauga High finds herself in a tie for 46th place, 27 shots off the lead. Wood fired a 90 on the first day of competition. She had round of 43 on the front nine, and followed that up with a 47 on the back nine. She will tee off on the final day of the tournament Tuesday morning at 10:21 am.
Kristi Ingram of Winston-Salem Mount Tabor and Katie Kirk of North Mecklenburg are tied for the lead at one over 73 after the opening round. Team-wise, Raleigh-Athens Drive owns a one-shot lead on Ardrey Kell, 240-241.  
In the Class 1A-2A-3A Tournament at the Longleaf Golf and Country Club at Southern Pines, Lauren Robertson of Hibriten and Bree Keller of Hickory are tied for 13th after first-round play. Both players fired a 12 over 83 in the opening round. Ashlin Setzer of Fred T. Foard is tied for 42nd with a 92.
Mallory Warrick of Wilson-Fike is the first-round leader with an even par 71.; team-wise, West Henderson owns a ten-shot lead on the field with a score of 241. Salisbury, which is in second place, fired a 251.
