TIME CHANGE: WHS Volleyball to start at 6:30 PM PDF Print

Watauga High Athletics Director Tom Wright has announced that tonight's volleyball match between WHS and Hough will start at 6:30 pm at Lentz-Eggers Gym.

The Pioneers (25-3), the No.1 seed from the Northwestern 3A/4A Conference, are looking for their deepest penetration in the playoffs in ten years. The Pioneers have not advanced past the sectional finals since 2000, when Lori Anderson was the coach. The Pioneers, who tied a school-record for wins in a single season, advanced to the Western Regional finals that year before losing to West Charlotte.
Hough (17-10), a new school in the Charlotte area and a member of the I-Meck Conference, defeated Hopewell, the No.2 seed from the I-Meck Conference Tuesday night in a five-set match, 3-2.

The winner of this match will play either A.C. Reynolds or Lake Norman in the Western Semi-Finals on Saturday. If WHS wins, the Pioneers would host that game.
