Watauga High freshman Savannah Wood extended her rookie season on the links Monday afternoon.

Wood, who was the second-best golfer in the Northwestern 3A/4A Conference this fall, advanced to the state meet by firing an 87 at the Class 4A Western Regional on Monday at the Reynolds Park Golf Course in Winston-Salem.
She will compete in Class 4A State Championship Tournament at the Pinehurst #1 Golf Course next Monday and Tuesday, November 1-2.
