The Appalachian State football team retained its No.1 ranking in The Sports Network/Fathead.com Top 25 FCS College Football Poll, which was released early Monday afternoon.

ASU (6-0 overall; 4-0 in the Southern Conference), off to its best start 15 years, received 111 first-place votes; Delaware was No.2 and the Fightin'Blue Hens received 29 first-place votes. Jacksonville State (11 first-place votes), William & Mary and Stephen F. Austin (one first-place vote) round out the top five.
Wofford (5-1; 3-0 SoCon), which is all alone in second place in the SoCon, moves up to No.9; Chattanooga, riding a four-game winning streak, is 24th, and Furman is 25th. Villanova is sixth, Montana is seventh, Eastern Washington is eighth and New Hampshire is 10th.
