The Watuaga High women's tennis team ventures to South Caldwell Tuesday for the Northwestern 3A/4A Conference qualifier.

The Pioneers own the top two seeds in singles play and the top seeded team in doubles play. Shannon Herndon is the No.1 seed in singles; Herndon was undefeated in conference play this past season. Meredith Smith is seeded No.2. Katelin Fox and Hannah Petersen are the top-seeded team in doubles play. Margaret Anagnos amd Lexi Evans have teamed up in doubles, but are not seeded.
The Class 4A qualifier begins at 1:30 pm Tuesday afternoon at South Caldwell; the Class 3A qualifier will be held Tuesday afternoon at Hickory High School beginning at 3 pm. The rain date for both will be Wednesday, october 13.
The dual-team state playoffs begin Tuesday, october 19; the individual regionals start next weekend, Friday and Saturday, october 22-23; the individual state finals will be held Friday and Saturday, October 29-30; the dual-team state finals will be held Saturday, November 6.
Playing sites for the state playoffs are yet to be determined.
