ASU No.1 in TSN Poll PDF Print

For the second week in a row, the Appalachian State football team finds itself sitting on top of the college football world.

The Mountaineers (5-0 overall; 3-0 in the Southern Conference), who staved off upset-minded Elon are ranked No.1 in The Sports Network/Fathead.com Top 25 FCS College Football Poll. The Mountaineers received the whopping total of 106 first-place votes. Delaware (6-0) is ranked second. The Fightin' Blue Hens received 29 first-place votes.
Jacksonville State (ten first-place votes), William & Mary and Stephen F. Austin (one first-place vote) round out the top five; Villanova, James Madison, UMass, Montana State and South Carolina State round out the top ten. Wofford, ranked 21st last week, move up to 14th in this week's poll.
The Terriers (4-1 ovearll; 2-0 and in second place in the SoCon) picked up a huge road win (33-31) at Georgia Southern on Saturday; the Eagles, who were ranked 16th, fall to 21st. Elon, despite a 2-4 record, is ranked 24th.
ASU takes on The Citadel Saturday night at home. As of now, quarterback DeAndre Presley, who suffered a head injury at the end of last Saturday's game against Elon, is listed as day-to-day for this week's match up against the Bulldogs. Our coverage begins at 4 pm on AM 1450, WATA.
