![]() Eric Breitenstein and the Wofford College Terriers are proving their serious contenders in the Southern Conference.
Breitenstein, who leads the nation in scoring and is seventh in rushing, had another huge day as the Terriers hung on to beat Georgia Southern 33-31 at Paulson Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The win moves Wofford (4-1 overall; 2-0 SoCon) into sole possession of second place in the SoCon. Breitenstein rambled for 82 yards and two touchdowns in the win. The Wofford defense came up with two big stops in the last six minutes of the fourth quarter to win the game.
Cabral has big day for Lions Linebacker Rudy Cabral, who played his high school football at A.C. Reynolds and is now a sophomore at Mars Hill College, a Division II school in the South Atlantic Conference, had a big day on Saturday as well. Cabral had 19 tackles and 2.5 quarterback sacks as Mars Hill rallied to beat Lenoir-Rhyne 24-20 on Homecoming Saturday in Hickory.
