The online auction begins on Saturday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m. and continues through Tuesday, Oct. 19. The minimum bid for each game-worn Nike Pro Combat jersey is $150.
The Mountaineers have donned the gold Nike Pro Combat jerseys twice this season — in the Sept. 4 season opener at Chattanooga and on Sept. 18 at home against North Carolina Central. Auction winners will receive the jerseys following the conclusion of the 2010 campaign, giving ASU the option to wear the gold on more occasions this season.
2005 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM REUNION SET FOR HOMECOMING: As part of this weekend’s homecoming festivities, Appalachian football will hold its annual Lettermen’s Day in conjunction with Saturday’s showdown versus Elon. Highlighting the 150 former ASU gridiron stars that will be on hand for Lettermen’s Day are 50 members of the 2005 squad that brought home Appalachian’s first NCAA Division I-AA national championship.
The members of the 2005 team, including all-Americans Matt Isenhour, Marques Murrell and Richie Williams, will be recognized during an on-field ceremony between the first and second quarters of Saturday’s game.
