Watauga High Athletics Director Tom Wright has announced that the Pioneers soccer match at Hickory scheduled for Wednesday night has been postponed because of rain.

The match will be played Thursday night. The JV match begins at 5 pm, the varsity match begins at 7 pm. The Pioneers, who are fighting the injury bug right now, are 1-2-1 in the Northwestern 3A/4A Conference,6-2-3 overall.
Hickory is ranked fourth in the state in  Class 3A in the North Carolina Soccer Coaches Association Top 15 poll. The Red Tornadoes were ranked fifth this week in the Charlotte Observer's Sweet 16 Poll.
