![]() The Appalachian State University football team is No.1 in the FCS Coaches Poll for the second week in a row. The Mountaineers (4-0 overall; 2-0 in the Southern conference) received 15 first-place votes. Villanova, which is No.1 in The Sports Network/Fathead.com Top 25 FCS Poll, is No.2. The Wildcats, who have put together a three-game winning streak after losing to Temple on opening day (September 4), received six first-place votes.James Madison, Jacksonville State and Delaware round out the top five; Stephen F. Austin, William & Mary, Umass, South Carolina State and Montana State round out the top ten. Montana (2-2), which rallied to beat Sacramento State 28-25 on Saturday, is 11th; Georgia Southern is 16th; Elon falls to 21st this week after being ranked 11th last week, and Furman is 23rd. The Mountaineers have a bye week on Saturday. Elon (1-3) comes to town Saturday, October 9 for Homecoming at Kidd Brewer Stadium.
