The Carolina Panthers have placed former Appalachian State University wide receiver and kick-return Dexter Jackson on waivers.

Jackson, a second-round draft pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2008, was released by Tampa Bay and signed by the Panthers last fall. He was placed on the practice squad.
In three pre-season games this year, Jackson caught three passes for 42 yards. He could be signed to the practice squad by the Panthers after the final roster is trimmed down to 53 players by this Saturday.
The Panthers close out the exhibition season at Pittsburgh Thursday night. Our coverage begins at 6:30 pm on Mix 102.3 FM.
NOTES: Our coverage of the North Carolina Tar Heels begins this Saturday night when the Tar Heels entertain LSU in Chapel Hill. Our coverage begins at 7 pm on Mix 102.3 FM.
