It appears that the traffic traveling into Watauga High this morning was much improved over the first week of school, that with the opening of the west side of Old East King Street.  Traffic coming from the Boone side flowed smoothly into the school,

with much of the back-up from the Deep Gap side eliminated.  The light at the high school entrance seemed to handle the flow well, with minimal back-ups heading down the drive into the school.  Traffic leading out of the school was a bit more backed up than traffic in-bound, but all-in-all appeared to be much more fluid in its flow.  Assessments from both Boone Police and Watauga County Schools are being formulated.
