The Boone Chamber annual meeting packed the Helen Powers Grand Ballroom at Broyhill Inn & Conference Center at lunchtime Friday with 10 awards handed out to both businesses and individuals for their projects and hard work.
Winners included The Award of Merit for Development for Development: Creekside Villas; Blowing Rock Fire & Rescue; Foscoe Fishing Company; Boone Hall and Jimmy John's on Blowing Rock Road.The Ben Suttle Special Serivces Award to Samaritan's Purse The Wade Brown Community Recognition award to ASU Football Coach Jerry Moore The Sue Wilmoth Award for Tourism Advancement to Ken Ketchie of the High Country Press The Alfred Adams Award for Economic Development to Mark Harrill of the Foscoe Companies And the initial everGREEN Award for Leadership in Sustainability to Mountain Lumber The chamber also showed off the new cover for their annual publication and their new website for those of their 832 members and guests there.
