While rookie-phenom Stephen Strasburg of the Washington Nationals is grabbing all the headlines, Madison Bumgarner of the San Francisco Giants is quietly putting together an impressive season of his own.

The lefthander, from South Caldwell High School, picked up his fourth win in a row Saturday night. He went seven strong innings as the Giants defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 10-4 at Chase Field in Phoenix.
Bumgarner had a shutout through five innings before Arizona pushed a run across in the sixth. On the night, Bumgarner went seven innings, he gave up two earned runs on five hits, he walked three and struck out seven.
He's only given up seven earned runs in his last 33 2/3 innings of work. His earned-run-average during that stretch stands at 1.89. For the year, he is 4-2 with a 2.43 ERA.
