Boone Woman Killed in Colorado Wreck PDF Print

A Boone  woman has died from injuries sustained in a Monday morning crash on Interstate 25 near Mead, Colorado. The Colorodoan.com web site is reporting that Jane Smith, 58, of Boone, N.C., was airlifted to Medical Center of the Rockies, where she was pronounced dead a short time later.

The report says Smith was a passenger in a Chevy Cobalt that was southbound on I-25 when a Kia Spectra crossed the center median and struck the Cobalt head-on. The driver of the Cobalt was Barry Smith, 58, also from Boone, who was airlifted to Medical Center of the Rockies with serious injuries.  The driver of the Kia, and his passenger were injured. The Colorado State Patrol said the Kia and a Geo Metro were involved in a sideswipe collision in the northbound lanes of I-25 and the Kia crossed into the southbound lanes . The crash remains under investigation.
