Watauga County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Incest and Statutory Rape Suspect

After about a two week investigation, the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office arrested 41-year-old Gary Andrew Long, of Boone, on allegations of sexual abuse of a juvenile.

He was charged with incest with a child who is 13, 14, or 15 years old and statutory sex offense with a child who is 13, 14, or 15 years old.

Sheriff Len Hagaman said the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office began working with the Johnson County Tennessee Sheriff’s Office to investigate the allegations on October 22.

Long was given a $200,000 bond and will appear in court on December 3.
