Energy Star Appliances Tax Free this Weekend

Governor Bev Perdue announced that all energy star approved appliances can be purchased with no local or state taxes this weekend.

Our Foothills Bureau reports appliances include washers, freezers, refrigerators, and several other items that display the energy star label. Residents can contact their favorite appliance dealer for more information about this weekend’s tax-free initiative.

Well, that's just great, considering I purchased my brand new washer & dryer on Tuesday that costs over $2,200. Wonder if they will let me bring the receipt in and redo the transaction to save the taxes I had to pay?
