Soon, North Carolinians won’t have to drive out of state to play the popular lottery game, Mega Millions.
The Raleigh News & Observer reports the state’s lottery commission voted Monday to add Mega Millions to the state’s menu of lottery games.
Mega Millions could be available in North Carolina as soon as January.
According to the News & Observer, the odds of winning the jackpot for Mega Millions are one in 175,711,536.
North Carolina already offers Powerball tickets and the Raleigh paper reports states typically don’t offer both Powerball and Mega Millions, although Virginia, Tennessee, and Georgia are also moving to offer both games.
