The men’s and women’s basketball programs at Appalachian State are gearing up for their season and will hold their annual Mountaineer Madness tomorrow night at the Holmes Convocation Center.
According to App State’s athletic department, men’s coach Buzz Peterson and women’s coach Darcie Vincent will speak, the teams will scrimmage, and the evening will close with the always-popular slam-dunk competition.
The first 500 fans through the door will receive team posters and several contests and giveaways will be held throughout the evening.
This event is free and open to the public.
As a side note, a member of High Country Radio has been named as the public address announcer for both ASU men’s and women’s basketball. MTN personality, Bill Fisher, has served as the public address announcer for several years at ASU, but will not continue after football season. One of High Country Radio’s sales representatives, Jim Clarke, will take basketball duties and will announce ASU football games next season.
Clarke is a former public address announcer for the MLB’s Washington Nationals.
