According to the Hickory Daily Record, the 18-year-old claims to have been forced at gunpoint to drive from Lenoir Rhyne to Cherryville.

There must not be any proof yet that she was kidnapped. She wouldn't be the 1st person to make it up. She probably didn't want to go to work or hadn't finished a project for school. Maybe she had a date with Paulman and wanted a good excuse to get out of it?

If it is true, her first mistake was leaving her car doors unlocked, knowing that she would be leaving work very late and in the dark. WBTV reported that she and a coworker walked out of the building together and then she got in her unlocked car where the man was waiting. People, make it a habit to lock your car, no matter where it's at.
