Hickory authorities arrested a suspect who they believe robbed a Bank of Granite Branch on Springs Road yesterday morning around 10:30.
The Hickory Daily Record broke the story. According to the Record, Hickory Police arrested 32-year-old Glenn Eugene Wilson on one count of felony common law robbery and placed him in jail under a $50,000 bond.
Wilson wasn’t charged with robbery with a firearm because he simply walked into the bank and gave a note to a teller demanding money. He didn’t pretend to be armed during the robbery attempt.
Police apprehended Wilson around 20 minutes after the robbery at a nearby apartment. Authorities connected Wilson to the crime because a man who was pressure washing the building saw someone matching the suspect’s description enter the apartments.
