Stepped up Patrols Keep Halloween Crime to a Minimal Level in Avery Print E-mail

Although Halloween is usually known as a night of mischief, Avery County Sheriff Kevin Frye said it was rather uneventful in Avery.

Frye said, “We had a couple of tire fires in the Buck Mountain area near the Tennessee State line, and a barn or old out building burn on Old Plumbtree Creek Road, but those circumstances are not yet known.”

Sheriff Frye said the extra patrol and high visibility not only assist in the lowering of criminal activity but also contributed to keeping the children and public safe on Halloween weekend.
