Grandfather Mountain Scenic Attraction Transitioned to Grandfather Mountain Stewardship Foundation

At 12:00 a.m. on Sunday, Grandfather Mountain, Incorporated ceased operating Grandfather Mountain, and the Grandfather Mountain Stewardship Foundation took control of operations.

According to Grandfather’s news director, Landis Wofford, the Grandfather Mountain Stewardship Foundation is a non-profit corporation that’s goal is to preserve Grandfather Mountain, operate the park in the public’s interest, and participate in educational and research activities.

Executive Director of the Grandfather Mountain Stewardship Foundation, Penn Dameron, said the transitions should be “seamless.” He said the public probably won’t notice any differences in the day-to-day operations at the Mountain.
