Mt. Airy--Four men were shot to death late yesterday afternoon outside a television/appliance store, and an overnight manhunt for the suspect has reportedly ended with his arrest in Virginia.

News repots out of Virginia say the suspect in the shooting deaths, Marcos Chavez Gonzalez, has been found in Virginia and will be returned to North Carolina.  He fled the scene in a Ford pick-up truck that was the subject of an intense manhunt.

Details from Mt. Airy are sketchy at this point, officials only telling news outlets that the four dead are Surry County area residents, but their names have not been released, nor has a motive for the shootings.  A witness told a television reporter that he heard a single shot, then after a couple of seconds, a rapid succession of shots.  Police there say a high-powered rifle was used in the shooting outside Woods Appliance and TV, and that two of the men were dead on the scene, two died shortly after arrival at Northern Hospital in Surry County.

Sounds like Mt. Airy Chief of Police-Dale Watson, (native of Watauga County) did an excellent job-since the suspect was found so quickly in the manhunt. Dale-we're proud to say you are from our county. Keep up your good work and public service!!!!!!!!!!

A laughing smiley face for a story this sombre and serious? Good grief. Sorry, forgot - mindless compliments supporting public service employees trump everything.

7 exclamation marks too. Must mean utter indignation with a glary, frowny face. Like this?.... :x

Also, I'm sure Dale's a great guy, but at this point, how we do we know he is due the credit?
