woodie1.jpg A 21-year-old Blowing Rock man was arrested on three counts of uttering forged instruments.

According to Sergeant Matt Stevens of the Boone Police Department, Jason Scott Woodie was arrested after Boone Police believed he presented checks that belonged to his deceased grandmother to High Country Bank without permission.

Woodie was given an $8,000 bond and will appear in court on December 3.

This looks like it came out of a build-it-yourself joke box for beginners.

1 Moronic Crime
1 Introduction to a cellmate
1 Dumb crook with a Woodie in his name

Any way you put it together, it's a gem.

I heard he was trying to cash his Grandmothers Checks to take care of
her pets after she passed away...
I think everyone is being a little hard on him...

You must be joking? Next he'll claim he was bullied in school with all the woody jokes and that's why he did it...

As his unofficial Lawyer,
We are sticking with the Pet defense..
(I saw Matlock get a murderer off by using this defense effectively before)

Feel free to add "get a murderer off" to the items in the build-it-yourself joke box that currently holds the crime, the cellmate and the Woodie.

"Uttering forged instruments"? What in the Hell's that supposed to mean?! Not even sure uttering's a proper word.
