The man leasing the North Wilkesboro Speedway from Speedway Motor Sports CEO, Bruton Smith, was arrested on Monday night.
Monte Mitchell of the Winston-Salem Journal broke the story. According to Mitchell, Charles Collins Jr. faces three felony counts of obtaining property by false pretense in Wilkes County and on a fugitive warrant from Florida.
The Journal reports Collins’ fugitive charges stemmed from contracting without a license during an emergency and third degree grand theft.
Collins’ false pretense charges stem from Collins reportedly writing three bad checks totaling around $2,000.
Mitchell reports Collins may also be wanted on a fugitive warrant from Georgia.
Collins was given a $25,000 bond and will appear in court on July 22.
