WATA Radio

AM 1450 WATA. The High Country’s news source since 1950, with news from around the world and right around the corner. Johnathon Roten in the mornings, Mike Kelly mid-days and Andy Glass afternoons 1 to 6. WATA is the original affiliate for live Appalachian State University football, basketball, and baseball.


oldies 100.7

Oldies 100.7 is the High Country’s first oldies station, playing the greatest hits of the 60s and 70s, with some late 50s and early 80s thrown in for good measure.


1200 NewsTalk

NewsTalk 1200 WXIT is a favorite of upscale, educated, involved people. Listen live to Roten in the Morning from sunrise until 8:45 am on weekdays. Dave Ramsey gives financial advice 9 am to noon. It’s Rush Limbaugh from noon to 3, and Sean Hannity from 3 to 6 pm.


Mix 102.3 FM

MIX 102.3 FM plays the best mix of soft rock favorites from yesterday and today. You can also hear North Carolina Tar Heel football and basketball, and the NFL's Carolina Panthers.


Highway 106.1 FM

New Country Highway 106 is the High Country’s FM powerhouse, playing the hot country music you want to hear. Ashley in the mornings and Buzz Berry in the afternoons.


Glory 1130AM

GLORY 1130 in Newland is the high country's gospel voice featuring news from around the world and right here at home. We’re your source for Avery High Vikings sports, as well as the High Country Swap Shop, heard six days a week. Good preaching and music all day every Sunday!
