 | Bluegrass & Barbecue to Aid Blowing Rock ManBlowing Rock, NC resident, Robin Coffey, was in an accident on August 30th, 2012. He fell approximately 25’ from a roof, sustaining a skull fracture, broken cheek bones, a broken rib, and shattered wrist. He was airlifted to Johnson City Medical Center, where he stayed until September 7.

 | Mabel School Remembers Deputy MastMabel School honored one of its own Wednesday as the school remembered William Mast Jr., a deputy in the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office who was killed in the line of duty last July. The school dedicated a tree to Officer Mast, a former student of Mabel, and placed a memorial plaque in his honor next to the tree.
