WATAUGA COUNTY RANKS 7TH IN STATE RECYCLING TOTALS

Watauga County ranks 7th  in the state for recycled materials recovery out of 100 total counties according to a recent report released by the North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources (NC DENR).  Watauga County has ranked 8th and 9th respectively in the state for the two previous years. Steppin' Up for Yellow Mountain

With the shrinking of state, local, and county funds, most agencies are feeling the pinch—or the bite—or the crash, depending on the impact on their budgets.  In Avery County, one organization is launching an effort to make back $25,000 of the funds they will be missing from state and local budgets with “Step Up for Yellow Mountain,” an event this weekend.

ACT Readers Theatre To Present Annual Courtroom Drama

Alleghany Community Theatre will present its annual ACT Readers Theatre courtroom drama on June 25 at 7:00 pm in the Alleghany County Courthouse courtroom at the intersection of routes 18 and 21 in Sparta. Foundation of CCC&TI Exceeds Fund Drive Goal

The Foundation of Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute culminated the year with its annual Celebration Luncheon, wrapping up another successful campaign.
