6:42 a.m. - Four suspects were arrested in what some are calling one of the biggest drug busts in Northeast Tennessee history.

WJHL reports 75 local and federal agents, the U.S. Forest Service and the Carter County Sheriff’s Office were all involved in the two-day investigation.

The bust reportedly took place across 68-acres of rough terrain in and around a home on Buck Mountain Road, where larges amount of cocaine and marijuana were confiscated.

Rhudy, Terry, and Roger Oaks and Benji Clausen all face federal drug charges.

Carter County Sheriff Chris Mathes told WJHL, “We truly believe this group is responsible for over half of the drugs actually being distributed in Avery County as well as Roan Mountain and part of Carter County.”

Officials say more charges could be forthcoming.
